ABOUT US

The Last Mile was founded for the purpose of establishing  brands in our Townships with the help of our people that live, eat and breath in our streets every day.

It was established based on a three-pronged approach “simplicity, consistency and quality” which connect brands to the market and thus to our consumers.  We enable the transaction in the last mile and facilitate the sale and interaction with the consumer “in the last three feet”.  We are very proud of our data and make sure that each transaction is put through the test to ensure the correct unedited data outcome.

The last mile is a metaphor used to describe the movement of goods from production to their final destination. In other words, the last mile is the last leg of your product's trip before it arrives on your customer or consumers doorstep and thus enabling consumption of that product.  We complete the Sales eco system with an audit that validates our existence.

The Last Mile will be the face of your business to your customers. We ensure availability of the right brands, excellent merchandising, and activation of volume driving activities to ensure that your brands are established and grow sustainably.

Lizelle Laubscher

Lizelle has 10 years of valuable experience in the FMCG market. Her focus has mainly been Sales Force Automation, Systems and Revenue Growth Management. She has spent extensive time in the Sub Saharan Africa market understanding market dynamics, consumer trends as well as how to build brands, merchandise and sell products to the informal market. She is passionate about people and analytics and thrives on putting systems and processes in place that enables the consumer to enjoy global brands on their doorstep whilst ensuring that it makes commercial sense.

JANNIE SERFONTEIN

In 1999 Jannie started his career with Deloitte. He completed his training contract and then proceeded to work for Deloitte in the United States. Later, in 2007, Serfontein became an assurance partner of Deloitte in the Pretoria office. In 2011, Serfontein joined Eqstra as its CFO. In his CFO role, Serfontein tried to steer clear of making false promises. He said to want to “manage people with integrity and honesty – even if there is no positive news”. For his work as the CFO of Eqstra, Serfontein was nominated for the CFO Awards 2014. In July 2015, Serfontein became the CEO of Eqstra. In 2018 Jannie stepped down as CEO and was appointed as the Chairman of the board at Eqstra where he is currently still playing a pivotal role.
